Gubernatorial candidate Chris Jones will be in Prescott Sunday, Sept. 4 at the Nevada County Library with his “Walk a Mile Tour”. The public is invited and encouraged to attend. The event will begin at 6 p.m.

We are currently allowing patrons inside only for Pop-In/Pick-Up library services.

            Fridays 9:30am – 5:30pm

Library staff available by phone 9:30am – 5:30pm, Tuesday – Friday Appointments will not be made in person. If you require assistance scheduling an appointment, please call the library at 870-887-5846.  Patrons are limited to one 45 minute computer session per day in order to accommodate as many patrons as we safely can in our building. To allow time for cleaning after each use, scheduled sessions must be authorized by the circulation desk for extended time. Staff will let you know when your time is ending. After you finish using a computer, please collect your belonging and exit the library. You will need a library account to access the computer. If you do not yet have an account and wish to use a computer, visit https://nevadacountylibrary.wordpress.com. – click catalog, then log on.  Staff will be unable to offer one-on-one computer assistance.

You are welcome to browse the collection, check-out items, and pick up holds. We encourage all patrons to make their visits as brief as possible. The library cannot serve as a gathering place at this time.

**Public access computers will not be available 30-minutes prior to closing.**

*Our staff will be wearing masks for your safety. We appreciate you wearing your face covering and practice social/physical distancing when you visit us. If you unable to wear a mask, you have the option for curbside services.

SERVICE(S) and FEE

Copy, fax, and scan services are available without a reservation. Staff members will no longer make change for large bills such as $20.00, so please arrive prepared to use bills in small denominations and coins.

  • Copying/printing is $.25 per page for black and white, and $.50 per page for color
  • Scans are $.50 per page
  • Faxes are $1.25 per page
  • Library card fee $2.00

COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test

Library Joins Program to Distribute Free Rapid COVID-19 Tests

The Prescott Nevada County library is set to distribute free rapid at-home COVID test kits in partnership with the Nevada County Health Unit. To make COVID-19 testing more available, Nevada County residents can pick up free, rapid at-home test kits at the Prescott Nevada County Library beginning Wednesday, January 12. The iHealth COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test kits will be available on a first come, first served basis while supplies last. The tests can be performed at home and offer results in 15 minutes. Residents can receive a maximum of two test per person (each rapid kit has two tests).

People showing symptoms of COVID-19 should NOT come to the library distribution site and should contact their health care provider or make an appointment for a PCR test at a location providing testing throughout the community.

The library will distribute kits from 11:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. No library card is required to receive a test kit. You will need to bring proof of residency, such as a driver’s license, ID and/or a current bill that shows your address. Masks are required in the library building – including when picking up a test.

BREAKING NEWS

The Prescott Nevada County Library has just been informed that another shipment of the COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test has been made available for us to distribute.

The test will be made available on a first come, first serve basis, while supplies last.

The library will begin distribution at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 14th and Saturday, January 15th at 11:30 a.m.
